Memories of Mattye Faye
from a friend, Wanda Sinclair McCorkle

When I think of "Faye," as her mom called her, my heart sings!
She was the most delightful person to know and have as a
friend.  She had a quick wit about her and she kept us laughing
with her "Shakespeare-speak."  "Forthwith" was a favorite;
"perchance" was also.  She called me St. Clair (Saint for short).
Even her letters written after she was married were addressed to
"Saint."

I have a picture of her son when he was small and I have
thought of  him a lot--wondering where he might be.  I would
love to tell him how special she was.  She was amazing.  She's
been gone a long time now, but she was unique and I've never
met anyone else like her.  I will always love her.
