John McRae Cox, age 78, Hope, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on June 24,
2013. He passed away peacefully at his home under the loving care of his wife,
Barbara. He was born in Hope, Arkansas on February 9th, 1935 to Mildred Harrie
Cox and Charles J. Cox who preceded him in death.

Mr. Cox worked in various positions in the family business, Cox Brothers Foundry
and Machine Company for sixty-two years.Previously he managed Danville Lumber
Company. He served on the boards of Citizens National Bank, Yellow Creek Hunting
Club, Bee Bayou Hunting Club and was a member of the First Christian Church of
Hope, Arkansas. His avid interest in hunting and skeet shooting was known by all
who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara Simmons Cox; one daughter, Donna
Cox Reynolds and husband Mike of Arkadelphia; one son, David Bryan Cox and
wife Dana of Hope, Arkansas; two grandsons, Will Cox and Zac Cox of Hope,
Arkansas; three granddaughters, Lauren Reynolds of Arkadelphia, Lindsey Reynolds
Butler and husband Justin of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, and Leslie Reynolds of Little
Rock, Arkansas. He is also survived by one brother, Robert H. Cox (Jackie) of
Hope, Arkansas and one sister, Bettye Jo Branch (Jimmy) of Beaumont, Texas.

The family received visitors from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday June 26 at Herndon-Pharr
Funeral Home in Hope.

Services were held on Thursday June 27 at 10 am at the Herndon-Pharr Funeral
Home. Interment was at Memory Gardens.

The family wishes for memorials to be made to Hospice of Texarkana, 3605
Jefferson Avenue, Texarkana, Arkansas 71854.

While there he participated in FFA three years and
4-H club one year.
