Wanda Sinclair McCorkle

Mrs. Wanda “Nee Nee” Sinclair McCorkle, age 78, of Hope, passed away, Thursday, January 2, 2014, at
her home. She was born on January 22, 1935, in Hope, to Jesse and Louise Ross Sinclair. She was a
retired bookkeeper at Bruner Ivory Handle Mill and a member of Unity Baptist Church in Hope. She loved
her children and was a true giver to everyone that asked. She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by three sons, Randon Lee McCorkle of Hope, Gary Don McCorkle of Taylor, Arkansas,
and Mark Alan McCorkle and wife Katherine of Malvern, a sister, Shirley Thornton and husband Charles of
Hope, ten grandchildren, Mason McCorkle, Kaitlyn McCorkle, Branson Malmborg, Anastasia McCorkle,
Madison Anne McCorkle, Martin Alan McCorkle, Morgan Ailene McCorkle, Mark Alexander McCorkle,
Carter Warren McCorkle and Elise Klaire McCorkle, a niece, Lynn Thornton Smith, a nephew, Rodney
Thornton, great niece, Jalyn Barba, great nephews, Chance Thornton, Daniel Smith and John Paul Smith,
a   special friend Dusty O’Keefe, numerous other family members and friends.

Visitation was from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Friday, January 3, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home .

Funeral service for Mrs. McCorkle were at 10:00 am, Saturday, January 4, at the Brazzel/Oakcrest Chapel
with Bro. Charles Thornton officiating.   Burial followed at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Hope.

Wanda graduated from Hope High School with class of 1953.  
Her senior year she was described in the yearbook:   “Some
think me bashful; others doubt it.”    

While a student at HHS, she participated in these clubs and
activities:  English IV Club; Library Club; 4-H Club; Glee Club;
Maids of Note; program junior-senior prom; GAA; Talent Night.
